CHANDLER KLICS, LLP, was established in 2015 by Rutgers University and New York Law School alumni and long time friends. Each with 10 years legal experience, Sylvia Chandler, a litigator and Kristen Klics, a transactional real estate attorney established a well-rounded law firm with dedication, compassion and skill in representing their clients to the fullest capacity. Their areas of practice include, but are not limited to Real Estate Law, Wills, Municipal Court Violation Defense, and Asbestos Litigation.
KRISTEN A. KLICS, admitted to the New Jersey Bar, 2004; the New York Bar, 2007; and the District Court of New Jersey, 2004. Ms. Klics graduated from Douglass College, Rutgers University in 2000 and New York Law School in 2004. She worked as a paralegal prior to entering law school in 2001. Upon graduation from law school, she served as a law clerk to the late Honorable Charles Villanueva, J.A.D. in the Civil Division and the then Honorable Thomas Weisenbeck, J.S.C. in the Family Part in Morris County Courthouse, Superior Court of New Jersey. Prior to establishing the firm, Ms. Klics specialized in Real Estate Transactions, including residential purchases and sales and commercial, short sale and REO transactions. She has continued success due to her pleasant demeanor and assertive nature furthering her ability to obtain much needed information and cooperation from state and federal agencies such as the Internal Revenue Service, New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, and the New Jersey Department of Taxation, Bulk Sales Division, as well as various municipalities throughout the State of New Jersey on behalf of her clients. In 2011, Ms. Klics was named a Rising Star for her accomplishments in Real Estate Law in New Jersey. She understands the importance of cooperation and open communication with all parties involved to keep transactions together. Ms. Klics also has experience in Estate Planning, Land Use, Bankruptcy and Foreclosure. She completed the New Jersey Association of Professional Mediators’ 40 Hour Divorce Mediation Training Program. Ms. Klics is extremely compassionate with buyers and sellers and offers a personal touch to her clients.
SYLVIA K. CHANDLER, admitted to the New Jersey Bar, 2004; the New York Bar, 2005; the District Court of New Jersey, 2004; and the United States District Courts of the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, 2015. Ms. Chandler graduated from Rutgers College, Rutgers University in 2001 and New York Law School in 2004. Upon graduation from law school, Ms. Chandler served as a law clerk to the then Presiding Criminal Judge Edward Coleman and to the then Presiding Civil Judge Harriet E. Derman both in the Somerset County Courthouse, Superior Court of New Jersey. Prior to establishing the firm, Ms. Chandler was a civil litigator specializing in defending asbestos related matters. She managed various types of high profile accounts and has experience in representing clients in high stakes and sophisticated product liability, toxic tort, wrongful death, personal injury and premises liability matters. Ms. Chandler represented various manufacturers of equipment, suppliers and contractors. She was involved in all aspects of the litigation including but not limited to, conducting discovery depositions, drafting successful dispositive and in limine motions, retaining and working with experts and appearing in court. Ms. Chandler also has experience in working on a variety of other toxic tort matters including lead paint litigation, as well as other insurance defense and general liability matters in the State Courts of New York and New Jersey. Currently, Ms. Chandler handles a variety of legal practices. She is intimately involved in handling an array of the following type of matters/issues: Municipal Court criminal and traffic, personal injury for Plaintiffs, Landlord/Tenant, time share cancellations, general litigation and residential and commercial real estate transactions. Ms. Chandler is known for zealously representing her clients.
